Nothing buddy. Site's basically dying. I still obsess over Elliott Smith. Muzik is dead, doctor's mom died, munky's still an idiot, lulz likes to still mention how he's a stoner, pat's still making v3, vic's heart is gonna explode, atomic is meh, and dan is balls.

bit pretty much nailed it...

except:

I took the quarter off from school (moved home)

depression sucks.

Trying to get in the grove of things again.

I started building a custom blogging platform, the likes of which can be seen at CURTISSANTIAGO.com | Indie Soul & Pop and SSBBrawl.com | Wii All Brawl! and soon on my sites as well.

I'm also just started up on the home page for v3, and should have the latest threads up and running here in no time.

What that says to me is: since muzikaddict stopped coming to this site he is termed "dead", however, he is not "dead" as in living just not coming here. But then, in the same sense, you use "dead" or "died" to describe as if [doctor & I] our mom stopped coming to this site, even though she actually is dead. You use it without any difference to orate the fact that doctor and my mom did not come to this site and actually is not living and do not supply the slighest of sympathy. I do not appreciate your fucking "I can fucking say anything on the internet statements" like you run the place and what little affect in mind it will have on others.

You just lost all my respect with that comment. I actually had an appreciation for your personality on these forums, though somtimes bitter nature towards newcomers, still entertaining. It is when you bring family into this and, in the same sense, compare it to something completely unrelated and fail to difference the two.

Have a great fucking day, because you just made my Friday!

And anyone who does know my personality can read through such statements. I didn't expect you to even be on the forums, or read the post, though nor do I pay any mind if you do. I'm sorry for how blunt I am, but saying I don't supply the slightest of sympathy is ignorant, if you going to base such sentiments off just one post.

Re: Wtf

There's nothing to say I'm sorry about. I am sorry about the loss, I've made that clear, but nothing about my post, besides the bluntness. Any inferences were on his part.

That doesn't change that he in turn was being judgmental of me, saying I had a holier-than-thou attitude, and didn't care. Which I am able to brush aside, because, yes, I was blunt.

But really, how much does he want me to flower it up to more sympathetic? I am not saying I can even understand what they as a family have had to go through, but I can say that as a friend of doctor's for the past four fucking years, I can sympathize with him deeply. I really do care for him, if y'all haven't noticed yet.

Maybe my form was taken badly, sure. But there was nothing I was wrong about. In your words, "bit pretty much nailed it..."

The only person I'll answer from here on is doctor or Covelton, since they are the only ones I have to on this subject. But I rather it be dropped altogether.

Because most, as concerns the members of VisualDesignCore community, have not suffered such an unfortunate loss. And knowing that "most" could make the difference, but not "all", (grady and I of course being the obvious exception for anyone like yourself who checks this forum every day) translates that we are going to perceive the word "dead" and "died" differently than others, especially when the two words and paired right ahead of each other.

Quote:
I didn't expect you to even be on the forums, or read the post, though nor do I pay any mind if you do.
Well, why wouldn't I? I visit this site regularly, if not everyday. (judged by the member login recorder at the bottom of the "Forums" tab.) And seeing the few number of threads being posted here on a regular basis, there are only so many out there to see. This one was the first to appear on the front page of the web site, so I decided to check it out.

And the fact that you didn't expect me to be on here, and therefore my emotion towards the subject, tells me that you don't pay any mind to whether my brother is on here either. Like the careless person you are, comments like those also won't have an affect on him. Your on-going strive to appear even half apologetic is not working, and I think just show how much you could careless about its impact on either of us.

Quote:

It is not ignorant. Ignorant, hypothetically, would be me calling you a disrespectful bastard for no reason -- without any coherent topic at hand and just because I didn't like you. However, in this case, there is very good reason for me to feel this way. I have sentiments to base the claim that you don't supply the slightest bit of sympathy because you are well-aware the effect it has caused on my brother and I. Given that this is a graphic art forum on the internet, and that stuff like this does not usually happen in day to day life, it is sure to leave an impression on us all. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, you replied to that thread. You should have the slightest bit of sympathy and conscientiousness before you just add "doctor's mom died" to your compilation of happenings, as if it's just another name on the list next to "lulz likes to still mention how he's a stoner." Because, to some people, it is more than another name on the list; it is "the person who brought him into this world."

Re: Wtf

Sure.

But I am also sure that doctor wouldn't or didn't perceive it as badly as you did. Maybe I'm wrong though, since this is being stirred up so goddamn much.

And I never said you were taking ignorance to an extreme. But saying I don't show sympathy is ignorant in that it is beyond your scope of knowing. I'm not losing sleep over it, sure, but next to you, doctor, and muzik, I am undoubtedly the most concerned.

Quote:

The fact of the matter is, you say stuff like, "This site is dead." Like, no activity. Saying "____ died" obviously shows someone literally... died. Sure, fuck semantics, but that's how it works.

I'm going for simplicity, not a eulogy.

My real name's Alexander Berenyi.

I just came here for a sec because Mehmet was spewing on about it on facenovel, and I figured I'd come and see how this place was different. And it's pretty much just as I imagined it (no offense to Pat): stagnant and unchanged.

This site essentially became just another time waster for me, and I'm trying to cut back on those.

And look where that has brought you. Perhaps a simple word change could have prevented this explosion in the first place. Though they may mean the same thing according to internet talk to you and many others, I expect you to not throw around that term carelessly. That is all I ask. Next time, when you're listing the unfortunate events around this site, pay better notice to what you say and what potential affect it may have on others. Take it from my position, bit. On any other day before November 23rd, if you mentioned "dead" in a coherent sentence joint with another "dead" or "died", I probably wouldn't care because it is common talk. But around a topic that is not common, like this scenario, given its touchiness, avoid using an unrelated term in the same context. B/c clearly it has had a standing affect on me.

Quote:

It is not even about ethics; it is about feelings. I don't carry around a bag full of arguments pre-set in my brain on family death, much like I do with political diagreements. My words here are not rules and principles lain down by some philosopher hundreds of years ago. This is not about me standing among the star as "ethical". This is about losing a parent -- something no theory can replace.

Quote:

I understood that the very second I read his paragraph. I know he wasn't intentionally trying to inflict harm on the situation, but the way it sounded was so senseless. I would've appreciated some degree of emotional clarification, like a sad face, or a word change, or something to express his sympathy. All I am left with is his careless remarks on this site thus far.

Have you shown anything on VDC recently that I may have missed? If not, please do. I have almost given up on my MS Paint days, so hopefully you'll provide me with the inspiration. Represent :P

I wasn't talking about any of that. I was saying that most people who study philosophy are extremely verbose, like now. how you're talking here isn't close to how you talk in person. nobody here is taunted with huge paragraphs.

he's shown his condolences before, and not making the split-second decision to put a sad emote doesn't mean he doesn't care (which apparently made you lose all respect for him). not making that split-second decision shouldn't cause someone to burst out with paragraphs on why they're wrong, either.

This is the internet, where text rules. You can't expect everyone to go out of their way to write expressively, nor can you expect them to accompany everything they say with a smiley. ()
