starting to digital paint again

here is a little wip that I am doing for my friend's band. I like how it is going so far, but still don't have that urge to paint (digitally anyways) have been doing many traditional paintings at school, and will post at the end of the semester.

Re: starting to digital paint again

It took a second before I realized you were color blind.

I think you should add more definition to the lines though.

I still don't understand how he could paint this if he were color blind.

Easily, if he thought the blue was green or the green was blue... the face was supposed to be one color with shadows and what not but instead its blue and green.

I think its kind of cool.

Re: starting to digital paint again

well, yea it is all weird. I have had it ever since I was a little kid, It's not hard at all to be colour blind. I get the primary colors + B&W

@atomic, you do understand that those lines will be coloured away once it is done; right?

I understand. I'm saying that where you've painted lacks definition in my books.

Re: starting to digital paint again

let yourself go man. it looks like youre just trying to go for the details and forms off the bat. try drawing a lot lighter opacity, and stop analyzing. Roughly block out the big forms and refine and youll find a lot better proportions and a lot cleaner look.

Re: starting to digital paint again

umm, I am sort of doing everything you just said :P yea, I use at about 50-60 opacity, block in, until I am somewhat impressed.
