Already posted this on BF, but this has a much stronger artistic community

. Anyhoo, done in Illustrator—way harder than it looks (even if you think it looks hard

). Very mathematical, a constructed hyperbolic tesselation on Poincaré's disk, to be exact. Thoughts?

I knew it was mathmatical. Looks like you could graph it. And it kinda looks like it could be somewhat spherical in shape if it were 3d. Oh and i love the use of colors, they match well.

yah dood, looks nice, good colors, and that mathematical stuff, just going crazy with circles and a compasss on paper is kinda fun (and nerdy...but whatever)

Ok to constuct a hyperbolic line segment, draw your limitting circle (center C). Pick the two points the segment will connect, A and B. Draw AC. Construct a line perpendicular to AC through A. Construct two tangents to circle C at the points of intersection with the perpendicular to AC and circle C. Lable the intersection of the tangents D. Draw AB and AD. Construct the perpendicular bisectors of AB and AD. Draw a circle through A and B with a center at the intersection of the perpendicular bisectors of AB and AD. Repeat for additional points.

course, i didnt learn algebra until geometry class...
so i had two bad math teachers two years in a row, that was teh sux, and now my math teacher is like "take AP Calculus" and im liike WTF IS CALCULUS

math sucks. but i'm in only algebra 2 so i guess i shouldnt complain. but Geomoetry was the worst class i've ever taken. Proofs... i couldnt do one to save my life. every one we ever did in that class i got completely wrong. and i got a lovely 42 on my midterm. thank god its over.
