i dont wanna scrnshot like 5 threads

but ill show you some of main parts and what I posted and what others posted....
So Ill just quote one thread,
Background info: Some of our staff in the site has been caught ripping, I thought it wasnt really ripping sort of (still vague on that myself, but hey

always fun to try to go against others), so I took a stand. Those two members have currently left the forums btw, and has been demodded. I felt that only because one of them has been caught 'ripping' a car picture from cgtalk.com and adding his brushes and text and the general photoshoppage, well Ive won a SOTW by doing that with ferrarie found on google.com, how much of difference does that make? cgtalk.com or image found from gooogle.com, I personally believe they dont matter, because if you look carefully enough, anime pics or other stuff you find by searching through google.com, probly is also copyrighted.

Without written permission I don't think you are allowed to just use their images unless stated so, but then you gotta give them credit. Just gotta follow the copyright I guess. This is just going back to Solaris's topic about ripping....... dry.gif |

thats the way I see it, and if these guys are rippers, then I must be one of them too! I take stock pictures and do some photomaniping or put grungy effects! sad.gif
Ripping to me, is something like stealing person's signature, making it samller and putting your name on it, or just taking big pics from DA, cutting out part you like, andp utting names on it, |

I'm going to have to talk to seek about a topic I've had in mind.... "What IS Ripping?" |

if you think its ripping, you better prepare yourself to start accusing some great designers like D.N.A. etc. |

google image is NOT a stock source. people need to know the difference between a stock and a copyrighted artpiece.
cgtalk images are copyrighted by the authors of images. This means you arent allow to just simply go and take it and shove it in the sig and add a random brush over it and go "omg look at the sigi just made".
This is due to the fact that you have in no way credited the orignal author nor intend to even ask permission in the first place.
That's ripping.
