I Need Some Advice

Well, I done creative things for my girlfriend in the past seven months and her birthday is coming up soon.

The thing is, I think this may actually be more important to her than Valentines Day. She's excited to become older (lol). Ironically, we planned to go to the Zoo to act like kids

I was hoping someone had a good idea or a story they could share that could inspire me to do something nice for her

Does anyone have anything to share? My idea is a little out there. She doesn't have the internet and she loves anime. So I was going to burn her some of her favorite series and make her a CD of her choice and a CD that has some songs that explain the way I feel about things (Though I seriously doubting I'm going to do it, all it would be is Nine Inch Nails [Going through some depression])

Things I've Done For My Girl:
Christmas: Burned her 100 dvd's, alphabetized and labeled in a dvd case. Served with this was a handmade card

Valentines Day: Sent her flowers, Sent her 32 pack of kit-kats, hand wrote her a 5 page letter with calligraphy on the start of the first letter of every paragraph...classy
Birthday: Made her a unique picture frame. It consisted of a black and white picture of me on the beach framed by tiny little thumbnails of all of our times together bordering the main image. The thumbnails were all in black and white and the around that was an actually simple black picture frame. Served with this was another handmade card

She has made me some really cool things as well:
A memory book consisting of all her favorite times with me handwritten on nice paper. I love this gift.
A framed picture collage of times we spent together. Also very nice

Granted we have a long distance relationship so the point of most the gifts is to have something tangible and sentimental to remember each other by. Hence the cards and letters and pictures.

Also in 7th grade I made a girl a pillow, that was dope!

are you going to that big ass zoo in knoxville? If so, i've been there before, and they are nice people. I'm sure if you call ahead there is special thing you do. Kind of like when the little kid gets to actually be with the sick animal, but without the other annoying little kids, and just have the both of ya.

might have to bribe the guy that cleans the shit to help you out.

I kid. NIN is a guilty pleasure.

But if you want to charm a girl, it isn't through Nine Inch Nails. Give her music that will make her wet. Or cry at how much she loves you.

But conveying you want to fuck her like they do on the Discovery channel is not a good idea.

but yeah, i think you're onto something. burn her a cd and make a nice cover for it (you're still good at these illustrations, right?) just...don't put any NIN on it. unless they've got happy songs. don't give her a cd telling her you hate your life. that won't romance her. --but anyways, girls usually like being made things,
buy her flowers and something else, too. maybe a necklace? take her out to dinner? you can't let her think you're cheap, either.

but that said, i've been single for 4 months and just trying to get over that, so i've kind of...forgotten how to "romance tha ladiez" and things.

But yeah, making mixtapes (cds?) have gotten lame. Like it's a quicky thing. So who knows. Maybe it can add flavor to a gift though, as a side dish?

Still, I think things to actually remember one by are a better gift. I know personally, one of my biggest fears is just forgetting the people I once knew. Don't ask, it's personal. But I like the idea of photos. Not facebook photos. But the memories attached to real photos.

Or like penisenvy/b said, a necklace. Or a bracelet.

Seriously.

I want a goddamn necklace.

i agree about the music thing, its nice and all, but really easy to do. Might be better to make something. Your an artist right? draw her something, maybe a card.

like i said...if you make cover (don't be lazy--a custom sleeve, backing, and printout cd label--they're easy to find) for a personalized cd, it loses its "quicky" feel, and is suddenly a much more complete and full thing. it's still no entire present, though.
