All my real life friends have shit taste in music, so I really only pay attention to the one stoner friend who drives me home everyday after baseball practice (sometimes after I'm forced to be there for drug deals... yippee! ~_~).
Other than that, I pay attention to what my history teacher plays in class, or what he puts on his website here. (Also his Best of 2006 list can be found here, in case anybody cares. worth checking out, after seing how much music he listens to).
And besides all that, I use the internet. Last.fm, primarily. Wikipedia secondarily. Muzikaddict thirdidarily.
And yeah, if I already know which album I have in mind, I'll just search for it on blog search engines, where it's quite popular to UL massive amounts of albums for pirates to find easily.
oh, and that one forum I go to, which specilizes in uploading albums you ask for (if they have it, at least, but mostly everyone there has over 40 gb of music, at least, so chances are usually good...).
Oh, and Doctor used to be a big help to me, but now he's poo, so yeah.

purevolume and friends and my brother mostly. I have a last.fm account but i don't really like it that much. For some reason last.fm turns me off and I never really got into it.

I personally don't see how OiNK makes you find "new" music, it's just basically a torrent site, correct? I mean, sure you find more obscuro stuff, but it's not like you're actually learning of new music, until you actually DOWNLOAD it and listen to it. Otherwise, it's just the same as any other torrent site... only with obscure music. I don't see how that is "finding" new music...
Then again, I've never been to the site, and I already have as much amazing music at my disposal as needed. :pretentious:
