Honestly? I lurk occasionally but i simply dont have time to really contribute a whole lot and im really fuckin sick of making promises and not being able to keep them.
This is more Pat's site than anything. He did most of the work, built this place a hell of a lot more than i did, and at this point, i'm just the guy paying the bills. For those who remember, ive kind of turned into "chrisUK." A fucking "owner" who is impossible to reach, and never around to fix shit that goes wrong and relies on everyone else to pull weight. And that is not something im really all that happy about.
Its not like theres a lot of activity here anyway at this point, which is again my fault really. I dont even know if anyone will end up reading this.
I absolutely love / loved this site and all my memories with it. I thought that once i was working on my illustrations i'd be able to set some time aside to take what ive learned and write for the site again, but the simple fact of the matter is i cant. There just arent enough hours in the week.
Im STILL in college, still working on my illustration degree, in my 5th year of school, and i'll probably have another 2 before i finish thanks to all the major switching i did. I wish so badly to have the time to dedicate to this site, but i just dont. And pat doesnt deserve half the shit i've put him through with this site, and half the promises i've made and never kept. So, Pat, if you ever read this, I'm sorry dude. Take that as you will dude, but sincerely, sorry. You're way too fucking cool to deal with all this shit.
Either way, i'll always pay the bill on this website, it will always be up, and i'll always hope for the time to produce work for it. Sadly i dont really see that happening any time soon. I have class all day, and then i literally hold up in my studio at my desk and work. Its invigorating, its amazingly fun, and im doing what i love but it still sucks that the cost of that is neglecting what could have been something amazing that i kind of fucked up.
I talk about this site a lot to other artists i know, and i talk about all of you guys as well. Its fucking insane how long we've all known each other and its really cool that i've been able to sort of watch (some) of you grow as artists. Everyones on their own path now, and doing such cool (really, seriously) cool cool fucking things. Its just a shame we cant make some of that magic and fun we used to have come back. And i know thats mostly my fault. I make no excuses for that.
Im rambling at this point. I've been working in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign for about 9 hours straight today and im half delirious. I dont even know if anyone will read this, but if you do, and whoever you are, remember to be kind because everyone is fighting a battle. And im sorry for abandoning this place, because it really had some fucking potential. You guys are all way more awesome than i am.
