well instead of trying more effects on the render maybe try to desaturate the render or lower the contrast on it. but a gradient map on her or something, maybe make her clash. But I wouldn't keep it the same as how it came.

I like the Ying Yang quality the colors seem to make up and the layout that you chose for the design, but I don't like the anime character. I understand why you put it there because it's a gift, but it just feels tacked on to me, like it's on top of the banner rather than part of it.

I think that as much of the sig as possible should be your own original work, but I haven't made a sig in over a year. But that's the philosophy I always subscribed to.

If anything, it should be unrecognizable that you outright stole someone else's work, in an effort to keep it your own unique concept.

i tend not to use patterns. they really annoy me. and i can never get them right..
whenever i use one, i usually make it myself, yeah. like scan lines... those are made by me.
And other things.
I can make my own sources.. like i even render by own stuff from free stocks.
so yeah, i pretty much like to work with things that are my own. when i do so, it usually makes my sig better because i understand it more.

this background looks pretty nice, and it appears to have potential. Atthough I strongly believe that the anime render would definately not be the right thing to place there. Try experiementing with illustrator or even photoshop, but with that same style to make your own fourground object. It will be much better, I believe.
