Yes, we try and stay as strict it as we can, that way we aren't giving 56k members seizures. 60KB is actually quite generous, most sites are 45k-.

Speaking of which, your sig is over the limits =/ Change please, sir.

If you use Adobe Photoshop, saving it at Maximum (10) will get you right below the limit, while keeping good quality

All you got to do is lower quality it a extremly easy process and you can still use that sig and it wont look any diffrent.

you can open the other sig up and resave it with lower quality.

how strict are we? if the sig is near 100 or more, i usually send a warning. Fudging like 5-15 kb over isnt bad in my opinion, but 100 is pushing it.

We have a few dialup users, death_noodle is one of them, and 3 kb/s downstream is complete shit, and takes forever to download the images.

I personally think this size limit for a sig is great....like i mean, on madcoke (this is a good example of a bad example by the way) we have had in the past some members having like sigs that were 500 pixels in height, or in one case, 800 and something...when u scrolled down, thats all u saw...i believe this helps keep the sigs reasonable...and lowing quality on photoshop hardly does anything at all....again...i love this idea

Having many years (over 2) of experience in forums, and big forums at that, it was wise of us to pick the best dimensions possible. Not only load times are effected, but readability of the forum itself is at compromise by large sig sizes. Definately not a good thing.

100 kb @ 3 kb/s = 34 seconds to download
150 kb @ 3 kb/s = 50 seconds to download
60 kb @ 3 kb/s = 20 seconds to download
