Hey Mac users

I need a program to splice an hour long episode of Saturday Night Live, just to get the videos of Radiohead off of it, and onto my iPod.

Like, I'd use iMovie, but it's not on this computer, and I don't feel like going through the trouble of DL'ing it (unless someone can find me an active torrent, I'm too lazy)

So, if you have any suggestions as to what i can usee to just chop up a movie, to get only 4 out of 60 minutes of video, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Re: Hey Mac users

I've seen those for Windows, but sadly, not Macs.

And yeah. The clips I'm trying to rip have been deleted off youtube, for being illegalz. So I downloaded the entire episode of Saturday Night Live with bittorrent, and now I need to rip the live performances by Radiohead (since they honestly are orgasmic).

But yeah, no luck at getting this done.

Btw, if you guys know any site where you can DL good videos for iPod, or any good iPod converters specifically for Mac, give me a heads-up.

(Doc, I know you have a Mac and an iPod? Vic and De Seis are gone, and you're the only one I'm positive would know much about warez and the like.... Help?)

Re: Hey Mac users

Look for iSquint for your conversion needs. I don't know what to tell you about iMovie or a replacement though.

Re: Hey Mac users

I DL'd iSquint earlier today, actually, but yeah, thanks for that.

Only problem is, that converts it directly to iPod. I don't need the useless 66 mins of shitty Saturday Night Live for the 8 minutes of Radiohead sex.

Figured out this program called VisualHub that lets me convert the movie to a .dv file, which is the iMovie type. And so over my airport, I'm able to send the file to iMovie on the newer mac my family uses (not this one, that doesn't have iMovie for some weird reason).

Problem is that it's taken by 3 hours so far, and I have an hour left till it full converts, just because .dv files are SOOOOOO fucking huge...

But yeah, after 6 hours of work, I should finally be able to get my 8 minutes of movie.

Re: Hey Mac users

Yeah, I figured you would have chopped the movie up and then converted it.

What the hell format is the video in to start in?

Something else that is super useful to have: Broken Helix. I love that app so hard.

Also: Did you check to see if it was faster to download the video on the new computer or copy iMovie to yours?

Re: Hey Mac users

The file is .avi

I didn't DL anything again, or copy iMovie, I just converted the file JUST right now to .dv, and am importing it directly into iMovie through wireless networking shiz (ethernet?). So, it's really not going that much slow at all.

Except it'll take like, 6 hours to fully import into iMovie, since the file is fucking 13.5 gb after converting it.

So hopefully tomorrow morning it'll work, if I leave the computer on all night...

Re: Hey Mac users

Yeah, I was wondering if it would just be faster to put iMovie on your comp (from the other), than it is to put the video on the other comp.

Re: Hey Mac users

Technically I'm not doing either, since I'm just directly importing it from an external hard drive of one computer, to iMovie on another.

It'd be the same speed either way, I'd imagine.

Actually, just stealing iMovie might be faster, since it slows down over ethernet.

Oh well. Shit's like 1/6 of the way done importing now, I'll just leave it on all night and hope for the best tomorrow.
