Simple Abstract Render
Abstract Tutorial
Step 1
Click objects > primitive > and then sphere. You can do this for any shape really even your own spines and shit but its easier to start on the sphere. Once you get a sphere on your sheet press “c”. this makes it editable.
Step 2
Now do tools > polygons and then tools > live selection. You can now click and drag over parts or all of the sphere. Note that you’ll only highlight what you can see so if u wanna highlight it all (you can) then go to selection > select all. After you highlight some, all or anything inbetween of your object (a sphere is recommended)

Step 3
Click structure > magnet and drag around your red highlighted section. Make it look NOTHING like a sphere. I suggest highlighting many different sections after you finish dragging one or even doing a select all. You want a giant GLOB of nothing.

Step 4
Now go to structure > bevel. Heres the fun part. Make whatever selection you want (doesn’t matter) and click and drag in any direction. JUST DRAG A LITTLE. Repeat in a different direction. You should notice some spikes coming out. I’d suggest just going over this a lot and getting some really odd looking blob. You can now optionally repeat the magnet step.
Step 5
Now go to structure > extrude inner and do the same thing as you did with bevel. Just a little. Hell you don’t have to you can just go CRAZY if you want. That’s the point of abstract. Have fun with this.

Step 6
Repeat steps 4-5 and throw in anything in structure you feel looks good.
Step 7
This is gonna kill your computer but it’ll get nice results. Now go to structure > edit surface > matrix extrude and input the settings:
First X: any # below 10
First Y: any # below 10
First Z: any # below 10
You can have some REAL fun and just input whatever you want just make sure your steps are really low or you get a big bulky render. If its too bulky lower the steps and the numbers.
Step 8
Now repeat everything you learned and apply a material! Be sure to go to: render > render settings and click out put. Make sure its on a very high size other wise you get a DINKY ass render. Now click save, select the format Targa and check alpha layer. Now go to render < render to picture viewer and when you do the file > save make sure alpha layer is checked. Save and have fun! Be sure to check tweaks tuts out for some good brush work!
PLEASE POST YOUR RESULTS I"D LOVE TO SEE IT
