The Making of Glow Part 1 The Making of Glow Part 1

The Making of Glow: Part 1 - Cinema 4d Render

1) First off open cinema 4d and goto Objects -> Primitive -> Pyrimid and a pyrimid, then push c to make it editable. After that goto
Structure -> Edit Surface -> Matrix Extrude twice with these settings.

2)Ewww ugly, apply hrper NURBS to smooth it out, much better eh? Now move the camera around to a spot that you think looks best, for glow, i chose not
to show the entire render, just a part of it because i didnt want just one big blob type of render, but thats just what i wanted from it, feel free to experiment
on your own . After a while of moving the camera, i picked a spot here

3) Now onto texture, use what you want, but for Glow what I did was i made an image and applyed it to a newly created texture, to do this make a new texture, then
in c4d make a new texture and draw your attention to the material editor at the bottom right of the screen

as the image above says, make a texture in photoshop and click that box that is circled, then select it. For people that want the texture i used on Glow
http://www.noodledesigns.net/tuts/ma...p1/texture.jpg theres what i used (BTW i also had transparency on with the texture added to that also).

4) Now your piece has texture, now add lighting or whatever else if you want and push CTRL+B to open the render settings box. From there change the
resolution of your image to your desierd size, I usualy use 1280x1024 for desktop wallpaper. Now in the Render Settings dialog box on the left click
Save and this should appear, make sure you pick the same options and relly make sure that alpha layer is checked

now just exit off the render settings box and goto Render -> Render to picture viewer and render your piece.

5) Once it has renderd from the picture viewer click File -> Save Picture As and make sure it looks like this

then click ok and save it somewhere. We are now done with Cinema 4d.

Next we will move onto the photoshop part of the tutorial.
