Create abstract clouds for sigs or renders.

Abstract Clouds

These have been created everywhere, here is my version of it.

1. Lets start out with a 400x400 or a render image. Black backround, if you go 400. Take a nice large fuzzy brush, tone down the flow, and blotch a couple.

2. Now, time for some smuding. Tone the smudge down, and rape this image. Try to use a sharper brush, like a grunge brush or something. MAKE SURE EACH STROKE IS RANDOM! Try not to pre-define any part of the smudging. Make sure everything is random! It's clouds, it must be random. It really helps.

3. What I did here, is some more smudges. I increased the flow a large amount, made it a bit more turbulent, and then I took a smaller flow amount, and just went over a bit more.

4. Take the same brush, and start making tiny little circular rotations. Do a few in one direction, then twist it a tiny way back the other direction to smooth it out. It softens it to make it less violent and fake. After you do all of it and it looks less smudged and more blobbish, what I did was take the eraser tool on a low flow, and I dabbed it with a heavy grunge brush. I did a very TINY bit of smuding, but just enough to give it a bit of texture.

5. A bit of colour, and I think you can get some mighty fine clouds out of this. This turned out somewhat rustic. Try this on renders, maybe a bit of radial blurs, or something, and you get a nice image. It's an awesome touch!
