Abstract Light Ribbons

Create an abstract light ribbon using the Pen Tool
Start off by either creating a new document, or use an existing one. I opted to create a new 250x250 document and fill the background with black (#000000).
Now grab the Pen Tool and make sure you have paths selected at the top.

Make a triangle like the following picture.

Next grab the Convert Path Tool:

And manipulate the path so it has a curve to it:

Make a new layer and set your foreground color to white (#ffffff). With your new layer selected, right click on the path with a pen based tool still in use and select fill path.

Now press Okay and your path should be white.

Now to get a nice glow on the light ribbon, duplicate the ribbon layer (the one you just created) twice.

Select the bottom layer (layer 1), and go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Set the radius to 3 pixels. Your light ribbon should now look like this:

Do the same things on the middle layer, but this time use a radius of 6 pixels. This will give a nice glow to the ribbon. Alternatively you could use a blending option to get an outer glow effect as well.
