Glass Tubes

Create a long glass looking tube

Step one:

Open a wide document. Maybe 550 x 110. Background is white. Make a new layer.

Step two: Grab your rounded rectangle tube (right of pen tool. right click that and select the tool.). Use these settings:

Step 3: Right click, and select make selection. Now fill it with a hearty color. I chose #FF0000. Now make a new layer.

Take the ecliptical marquee tool (first one top left. right click u'll find it.) and make a selection of about half the tube orb. Now fill with white. Tone the opacity down, and you've got a nice glossy effect. Thats pretty much it... you can fool around and add more to it. I added a stroke 1 px outside.

The reason we made so big is so you can resize it and it'll look a lot nicer smaller. This is the basic way to make a glossy glass tube... there are others. You can add a gradiant to the layer below the gloss, it helps too. Just play around.
